Guerrilla Union announced the initial lineup for the 2013 installment of the Rock The Bells music festival at their launch party at the House of Blues in Hollywood last night. This year’s festival will include special virtual performances from Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Eazy-E, similar to the 2Pac hologram performance at Coachella 2012.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Rock The Bells is an annual music festival featuring a diverse line-up of high-profile world class hip-hop artists. The festival originally took place in Southern California only, but has since toured throughout the world. The first festival was held in 2004, featuring a re-united Wu-Tang Clan, who performed four months before Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s death.

More artists are expected to be added in the coming months. We’ll keep you posted when more information is released.

Insomniac Events has announced the artist and performer lineup for the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. This year’s festival in Las Vegas has already sold out and this year’s installment promises to be its biggest installment yet.

The Electric Daisy Carnival, also known as EDC, is an international annual electronic dance music festival held in the summertime in the United States and Puerto Rico. Founded by Pasquale Rotella, CEO of Insomniac Events, the festival has been hosted by venues in California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, New Jersey, Texas, and Puerto Rico. Originally a one day Southern California event, EDC has spread to multiple venues in multiple states from May through November. In 2009, the festival was expanded to a two-day event. The first installment of EDC in Las Vegas lasted 3 days in 2011 and it drew a grand total of 230,000 people. The 2012 event drew a grand total of 345,000 people. EDC 2013 in Las Vegas is expected to draw over 360,000 people. EDC is the largest North American electronic music festival and dance music event. In 2013, it was announced that EDC would be held in Chicago and London for the very first time.

Shark Sinatra, born and raised in the Bay Area, has always had music in his blood, ever since the days of listening to his mom’s records. By the time he was in middle school, he played percussion and saxophone in both the jazz and woodwind bands. Growing up as a huge fan of both hip hop and R & B music, Shark can remember writing all the lyrics to his favorite songs, from Mase to D’angelo. As a musician, Shark proved his love of music never stopped evolving. He began his career as a recording artist in 2010, and he has not let his foot off the pedal ever since. Shark cites Al Green, Stevie Wonder, the Tower of Power, Michael Jackson, Nas, Sublime, Kanye West, and Big K.R.I.T. as some of his major musical influences.

The Project One Gallery, located at 251 Rhode Island St., is one of the most unique venues in San Francisco, with an upscale decor, an amazing art gallery, and a full bar with a friendly staff. In addition, you will find plenty of free parking around the area.

Diplo’s record label, Mad Decent, announced the dates today for their upcoming Mad Decent Block Party tour, sponsored by Puma, FADER, Serato, and Red Bull. Last year’s Block Party tour included artists such as Major Lazer, Zeds Dead, Bondo de Role, Erol Alkan, Theophilus London, Riff Raff, Action Bronson, Flosstradamus, and Claude Vonstroke. This year’s lineup is sure to also include many more notable artists from the Mad Decent artist roster. We will keep you posted when official lineup information is released.

Past success of the Mad Decent Block Parties has led to its expansion from five stops last year to thirteen stops this year.

Diplo is a Los Angeles-based American DJ, music producer, rapper, and songwriter. He founded and manages the record company Mad Decent, as well as the not for profit organization Heaps Decent. During his rise to notability, Diplo worked with British musician M.I.A., an artist who is credited with helping expose him in his early career. Later, he and fellow M.I.A. producer Switch created a Jamaican dancehall project titled Major Lazer. Switch and Diplo parted ways in 2011. Diplo has since enlisted producers/DJs Jillionaire and Walshy Fire to help with the production and live shows. Major Lazer just released their second full-length album, Free The Universe, on April 16th. The album is now available on iTunes and physical copies can be purchased at your local music retailers.

Mad Decent is a Philadelphia-via- Los Angeles-based record label spearheaded by Diplo. The label has helped introduce Brazilian baile funk and Angolan kuduro to clubs around the world. Recently, the label has embraced moombahton, a fusion genre of electronic dance music and reggaeton founded by DJ Dave Nada. Some of the artists signed to Mad Decent include Baauer, known for his recent hit “Harlem Shake,” Zeds Dead, Dillon Francis, Rusko, Blaqstarr, Riff Raff, and Crookers.

Random Access Memories, made in near-total secrecy, is one of 2013′s most eagerly anticipated – and most enigma-enshrouded – releases. Daft Punk are perhaps the biggest enigmas in all of music, so this comes as no surprise. This is a musical duo that dances to the beat of a different drum.

The album’s title is said to encapsulate Daft Punk’s interest in the past, referencing both technology and the human experience. Thomas Bangalter, one half of the duo, explained the reasoning behind the name: “We were drawing a parallel between the brain and the hard drive – the random way that memories are stored.”

The hype surrounding Random Access Memories, has now hit a fever pitch thanks to the newest Collaborators video featuring Pharrell Williams.

The Neptunes and N.E.R.D lead man has been profiled in the latest video to appear on the official Random Access Memories website. ”You don’t need MDMA for this music because it’s so incredibly vivid,” Pharrell says.

Pharrell uses the interview to talk about his recording sessions with Daft Punk (referring to them as “robots”) and gives us his thoughts on the forthcoming album, including a track he features on entitled ‘Get Lucky,’ which was recently teased at Coachella this past weekend.

Watch the full video Collaborators video featuring Pharrell above and get hyped for this amazing new album. You can watch previous installments of the Collaborators videos on the official Random Access Memories‘ website here or on the Creator’s Project YouTube channel here.

Be sure to read Daft Punk’s rare interview with Rolling Stone as they explain the process and inspiration behind their newest LP. ”Electronic music right now is in its comfort zone and it’s not moving one inch,” said Bangalter. This is a MUST READ!

Random Access Memories is set to be released in the United States next month, on May 21st. This is definitely an album that can’t be missed.
